About this role

About Us

Skift is the leading business intelligence and media company in travel, delivering news, research, and global events that power smarter decisions across the industry. We convene senior leaders and innovators who rely on Skift for clarity, insight, and meaningful connection in a fast-moving global market.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a sharp, industry-fluent Branded Content Editor, Meetings & Events to join Skift Studio, our in-house branded content division. Purpose-built for an editor with deep knowledge of the MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences, and events) ecosystem, this role carries a heavy emphasis on multi-format writing and editorial production, paired with live event moderation. You will straddle pre-sale ideation and post-sale execution, helping hotel groups, CVBs, and event tech platforms tell compelling stories targeting meeting planners and corporate travel buyers. Crucially, you will leverage AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT) responsibly to accelerate workflows while maintaining a strict human-first perspective. This is a fully remote position open to candidates based anywhere in Latin America (excluding Brazil).

Why This Role Matters

Skift Studio delivers best-in-class multi-platform programs—combining intelligence, research, event experiences, and advertising—for Skift’s commercial partners. As our dedicated MICE Editor, you are Skift Studio's resident subject matter expert on the business pressures and evolving economics of group travel. By translating complex industry dynamics into authoritative reports, engaging articles, and dynamic stage discussions, you directly shape how major brands speak to meeting planners and procurement leaders. Your work ensures that our commercial MICE programming carries the same sharp, indispensable rigor as our mainline journalistic coverage.

Some of What You’ll Do

Editorial Production & MICE Mastery (Core)

  • Write and/or manage freelance talent developing sponsored content programs targeting meeting planners, event professionals, and corporate travel buyers across formats: short-form articles, long-form reports, insight decks, spoken presentations, and video scripts.
  • Serve as the Studio team's resident expert on the meetings and events sector, keeping a pulse on group business trends, incentive travel, venue development, and event tech.
  • Maintain exceptional editorial quality and brand consistency across all outputs, ensuring a compelling tone that supports key sponsor messages.

AI Workflows & Pre-Sale Strategy

  • Leverage AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT) to accelerate early-stage ideation, outline drafting, interview prep, and desk research while strictly upholding Skift Studio's editorial standards, originality, and fact-checking.
  • Collaborate with Skift’s sales team on pre-sale ideation to develop strategic, sector-specific proposals that sharpen pitches and win high-value MICE clients.

Client Communications & Event Moderation

  • Handle day-to-day client interactions to review content deliverables, incorporate feedback seamlessly, keep strict deadlines on track, and ensure content visibility.
  • Research, script, and moderate partner events in both live and virtual formats—including sponsored Skift Summit/Forum talks, custom panel discussions, and webinars (with a heavy focus on Skift Meetings programming).
  • Partner with the internal studio team to continuously maintain, evolve, and expand our product suite for the business events market.

What You’ll Bring

  • Deep MICE Expertise: Extensive familiarity with the corporate meetings, incentives, conferences, and events industry—including the exact business pressures facing meeting planners, procurement leads, and venue buyers.
  • Proven Editorial & Agency Chops: Demonstrated track record covering, writing about, or creating content for MICE-adjacent sectors (hotel group sales, CVBs, DMCs, event tech) within a fast-moving marketing, ad agency, or B2B trade publishing environment.
  • Practical AI & Tech Fluency: Experience utilizing AI content accelerators for early-stage drafting and research, alongside standard operational tools (WordPress, HubSpot, Google Drive).
  • Stage & Client Confidence: Proven ability to manage client relationships/feedback, build polished sales materials/proposals, and act as a confident public speaker bringing journalistic rigor to live event moderation.
  • Self-Starting Curiosity: An independent ability to educate yourself on complex business processes and transform raw information (data, insights, C-suite interviews) into compelling business narratives.
  • Impeccable Communication: Complete English fluency (written and verbal), with the demonstrated ability to write, edit, and proof multi-format copy in a nuanced, highly professional tone completely free of grammar or spelling errors.

Success Metrics

  • Content Velocity & Resonance: On-time delivery of engaging, multi-format sponsored content (reports, articles, scripts) that speaks authentically to meeting planners and drives strong campaign performance.
  • Client Retention & Trust: Smooth day-to-day sponsor management that successfully incorporates feedback, hits deadlines consistently, and builds long-term commercial relationships.
  • Pre-Sale & Stage Impact: High-quality, sector-specific pitch contributions that help close major MICE sponsor deals, paired with confident, engaging panel moderation at Skift Live events.
  • Workflow Efficiency: Responsible, highly effective integration of AI tools to accelerate early-stage drafting and research without sacrificing Skift’s human-first tone, accuracy, or originality.
