We are looking for an experienced SQL Developer to design, develop, and optimize database solutions supporting our applications and client projects. You will work closely with developers, Business Analysts, Project Managers, and other stakeholders in a collaborative Agile environment.
This is a development-focused SQL role rather than a Database Administrator position.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain SQL Server database solutions
- Develop stored procedures, functions, views, and complex SQL queries
- Optimize and refactor existing SQL code for performance and maintainability
- Design and maintain data models and ETL processes
- Investigate database and query performance issues
- Collaborate with development and business teams to translate requirements into technical solutions
- Support testing, deployment, and troubleshooting of database-related changes
- Maintain clear technical documentation
Requirements:
- At least 3 years of professional experience with Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL
- Strong knowledge of relational databases and data modelling
- Solid experience with stored procedures, functions, views, joins, CTEs, aggregations, and complex queries
- Hands-on experience with SQL performance tuning and optimization
- Good understanding of indexes, execution plans, transactions, and locking
- Familiarity with Git and CI/CD practices
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good communication and collaboration skills
Nice to have:
- Experience with ETL, SSIS, or other data integration solutions
- Experience with SSRS, Power BI, or Tableau
- Experience with Azure SQL, PostgreSQL, or other relational database platforms
- Familiarity with Jira, Azure DevOps, and Agile development practices
- Experience in insurance, reinsurance, or financial services
