About this role

Your mission

Join us in solving one of industrial robotics' toughest challenges.

R3 Robotics is developing the AI-powered dismantling platform that transforms end-of-life electric vehicle systems into strategic sources of critical materials. As global electrification accelerates, the surge in batteries and e-motors requires automated solutions that manual disassembly cannot provide. We are addressing this industrial bottleneck by enabling the automated dismantling of complex systems at scale through computer vision, artificial intelligence, and specialized robotic tooling.

Following a successful €20M Series A funding round led by HG Ventures and Suma Capital, we are expanding across Europe and preparing for our entry into the United States market in 2026. We partner with major industrial recyclers and automotive OEMs to deliver measurable impact.

If you seek to work on advanced robotics within a well-funded organization scaling internationally, this is your opportunity.

Your role

As our Robotic Cell Operator, you run our robotic EV battery disassembly cell day to day in Kuppenheim. You load battery packs into the cell, carry out the manual disassembly steps between robot operations, get the cell running again after faults, and tell our engineering team what you see so the robot keeps getting better. You join the Operations team, work fully on site in Kuppenheim (full shift, 08:00 – 16:30), and we train you on both manual disassembly and the robot cell.

Your Responsibilities

  • Run the robotic disassembly cell. Start up and shut down the cell, select the right program for each battery pack, and keep both stations supplied so the robot never waits.
  • Load and unload battery packs. Place and secure packs on carriers, move them into and out of the stations with the forklift, and clear the station for the next pack.
  • Carry out the manual steps. Perform the manual and high-voltage disassembly steps between robot operations, following our work instructions and safety rules.
  • Recover from faults. Read alarms, follow the recovery steps for standard faults, and call in engineering when a fault goes beyond them.
  • Log every pack and every stop. Record packs, stops and fault reasons accurately in our digital systems, so the data behind the cell's performance can be trusted.
  • Help improve the robot. Give clear, structured feedback to our product and engineering teams on faults, programs and manual steps, and support test runs when new pack types are introduced.
  • Work safely, always. Wear the right protective equipment, never bypass a safety device, and stop work when something isn't right.
  • Cover manual disassembly. Work at a manual disassembly station when needed, as part of our operations team.

Your profile

  • At least 1 year of hands-on work in manufacturing, assembly, maintenance or vehicle repair, including operating machines or automated equipment.
  • A technical vocational background, for example Maschinen- und Anlagenführer, Mechatroniker, Elektroniker für Automatisierungstechnik, Kfz-Mechatroniker, or a line operator in automotive or battery production.
  • Experience operating a robot cell, automated line or PLC-controlled machine, including working with its safety systems.
  • Strong hands-on mechanical skills: hand and power tools, torque, fasteners, clamping and lifting gear.
  • A disciplined approach to safety: you follow procedures under time pressure and stop work when something is wrong.
  • You can describe what went wrong with a machine clearly and record it accurately.
  • Able to do physically demanding work for a full shift, with full protective equipment.
  • Willing to work full-time on site in Kuppenheim.
  • Working English (team language on the floor).
  • Nice to have: a high-voltage qualification under DGUV Information 209-093 (2E or 3E); an electrical background; experience with EVs or batteries; a forklift licence
