We are looking for a Senior Platform Engineer – Python Backend to architect and build the core backend systems powering a modern, cloud-native fintech platform. In this role, you will design and develop scalable, secure, and high-performance microservices while working closely with DevOps, data, AI, and frontend teams. You will play a key role in shaping platform architecture, enabling seamless integrations, and ensuring systems are resilient, compliant, and optimized for high-volume production environments. Requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Design, architect, and develop scalable backend services and RESTful APIs using Python and FastAPI
• Build and manage microservices architecture for modular, high-performance applications
• Implement event-driven and asynchronous communication using Kafka, SQS, and SNS
• Develop integrations with third-party systems and external vendor platforms
• Design and optimize data storage solutions using PostgreSQL/MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, and Neo4j
• Automate deployments and manage infrastructure using Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines
• Define API standards, maintain OpenAPI specifications, and enforce governance practices
• Ensure platform security, compliance, and audit readiness across services
• Implement observability, monitoring, and tracing using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and CloudWatch
• Optimize system performance, latency, and throughput for large-scale production workloads
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI, data, and analytics capabilities
• Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and mentor junior engineers

What Makes You a Great Fit

• 4+ years of experience building production-grade backend systems and microservices
• Strong expertise in Python, FastAPI, and asynchronous programming
• Deep understanding of microservices, distributed systems, and cloud-native architecture
• Hands-on experience with AWS services such as EKS, Lambda, SQS, SNS, and RDS
• Proficiency in Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD tools like GitLab pipelines
• Strong database experience across relational, NoSQL, graph, and caching systems
• Knowledge of authentication and authorization frameworks (OAuth2, JWT, RBAC)
• Experience with observability, monitoring, and performance optimization in production systems
• Ability to work in fast-paced, high-impact product environments
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to system design and scalability
• Exposure to fintech systems, payment integrations, or regulatory frameworks is a plus
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills to work across distributed teams
